bellwethr is an open research project. We collect as little as possible, and only to build a public price index for AI inference. Plain version below.
Whatever you choose to enter in the census: your role, usage band, the providers you use, your methodology opinions, the per-token prices you report, and any free-text feedback. Every field is optional. If you give us an email — only to join the working group — we store that too. We also record the IP address and browser user-agent of each submission, purely to deter spam and abuse.
To aggregate it into an open, anonymised dataset and methodology for the Bellwethr Inference Index (BWI). The price and usage data is research input; it is never tied to your identity in anything we publish.
We publish only aggregated figures and anonymised research data. We don't sell your data and we don't share personal details with third parties. An email you provide is used solely to contact you about the working group — never marketing.
We keep submissions as long as they're useful to the research. You can ask us to see or delete your data at any time — just email us and we'll take care of it.
We use only the essential session cookie needed to run the site securely. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
